Although bridles come in standard sizes, each make vary slightly in their measurements. The size of the horse does not always relate to the size of his head, however as a general guide we suggest the following, but you may have to mix and match to get a good fit.

Footwear
For long riding boots all measurements should be taken in the sitting position.
Calf: Measure around the widest part of calf, over breeches and socks.
Height: Measure from the floor up to the 'knuckle' on the outside of the knee. Be generous as boots drop with use.
Control: Measurement from the back of knee directly down to floor.

Rugs
Measure your horse, the fit is very important. Too tight creates constant discomfort which could result in runs or sores. Too large lets in draughts and wet.
Length - measure in a straight line from the centre of the horse's chest, around the shoulder in a continuous straight line to the furthest point of the hindquarters.
Depth - usually standard, although some manufacturers give a choice of extra depth. Measure from the centre point of the back and straight down.
